Risk Assessments

Every Sports club must have a Risk Assessment.
Risk assessment means taking a systematic approach to looking at what could cause harm to people (or property, equipment etc) during club activities.

Many hazards are unavoidable, but it is important that as a club you take satisfactory precautions that the risk of harm is small.
5 Steps to Risk Assessment:

  1. Identify the hazards
  2. Decide who may be harmed and how
  3. Evaluate the risks and decide on precautions
  4. Record your findings and implement them
  5. Review your assessment and update if necessary

Full guidelines are available to download. These will take you step-by-step through the process.

A Risk Assessment template is also available here.
